It’s customary when winning an accolade to thank various parties – mum, agent, sponsors, etc – much in the manner of the Oscars. When Scott Young completed his APC recently and joined the ranks of the RICS as a qualified surveyor, he attributed his achievement to a steady diet of coffee, Red Bull and the ongoing support of his family and colleagues during his long period of study.
“Working towards your APC is a demanding process,” explained Scott. “There’s so much information to take in and it’s tough to fit your studies around your existing work commitments. But it’s been fascinating gauging the opinions of fellow professionals and other RICS members during that time. I’ve learned a lot about marrying theory with practice and it’s interesting how deep we’ve gone into ethical matters like complaint handling procedures and professional indemnity insurance.”
Poole Dick were recently placed No.1 for People Development at the Constructing Excellence National Awards in London. Scott’s achievement is indicative of the emphasis we place on professional and personal development. We want our people to grow and will continue to support them on that continuing journey.
Well done Scott – we’re proud of you!
